After having watched all of the videos in this series, I just have to say… Japanese infantry attacks are the most pathetic and inept thing I’ve ever seen. None of their offensives achieved anything. You have been armed with a gun, wtf are you charging for… hunker down, fire your rifle, crawl and throw your grenades. Wtf was wrong with their commanders

You’re talking about operation down fall. The US Army was supposed to preform a giant amphibious landing. You’re right, US Infantry Soldiers would have never made it past the beach heads.
@Imthekaiser Roger that! No politics here, just a quick reply to the world of ifs. The waste comment is not at all political, my apologies if construed that way, more a comment on the aggression of man in his animal instinct way of dealing with things.

what you are all forgetting is that the japanese were taught almost from birth is that they were superior to everyone in everything from religion to their military, their children were taught to follow orders, use weapons,marching , basics of flying ,in all children being taught how to go to war. so when the call came to go to war the people went thinking they were the best in the world.
If, If, If….if they hadn’t tried to pick on the big guy on the block nobody would have died. The Pacific war was over on Dec 8th as soon as Roosevelt declared war on Japan. Nothing left to do after that except the dying. A grand, giant waste.

If the Japanese would have had the brains to surrender after losing their fleet at Midway it would have saved MILLIONS of lives! After their front line carriers went to the bottom of the Pacific their war was OVER. I don’t know if the Jap soldiers were crazy or stupid but I had 5 family members in the Pacific theater (3 seriously wounded) and I have no sympathy for the Japs, military or civilian…

they didnt have shit equipment they had some of the best air fighters and bombers. sure they had shit tanks but they made up with that with their cruelty and notoriety.
The japs were good fighter’s, but they never would have one any island fight. The marines had alot of navy ship’s full of supply’s and full of gun powder. The american’s had time on their side. The japs were coward’s however when it came to civilains. I will not mention here what they did to pregnant woman on guam, but i can assure you will complete accuracy, that it DID happen, and it was completely horrific.

The Japs needed to get drunk to be able to attack… and just got slaughtered. They are the weakest soldiers of any nation except for Italy.

Why did the Japanese not rig the place like Iwo Jima would have been far more effective and costly for the Americans. Also wondering why if they had all that artillery they used against the Amtracks why not use it against the marines to have them keep their heads down while the Japanese BBBBAAANNNZZZAAAAIIII -ed
